2 Steps To Spot A Forged Hawaiian Certification of Live Birth!

How to spot an (alleged) forged Hawaiian Certification of Live Birth in 2 easy steps.

What you will need!Add Image
- A good graphics editor aka Gimp or Inkscape, Photoshop will work but the other two are free.
(don't use Microsoft Paint - Gimp should be your first choice)

You can download them here and they will work with Windows.

http://www.inkscape.org/download/ (professional vector graphics program)

- An original untampered Hawaiian Certification Of Live Birth (COLB)

- A forged or tampered COLB.

- A little information.

I have provided both of these COLB here so you can right click them and save them to your computer. You will be able to open them in you graphics program. If you prefer to source your own alleged forged/tampered Hawaiian COLB you can also find one at the following link. Simply right click and save to your computer.

Several things to know before you begin.

- You use the magnifying tool icon on either of the graphics editing programs to increase the size of the image. You click on the magnifier icon and then mouse over the image and click, the more you click the larger the image becomes. Yo can press the " - " (minus sign) key to make the image smaller. Memory issues aside you can increase the image size a lot, 100% - 800% - 9,000% and so on. The gimp maxes at 25,600%.

- You use the eye dropper tool icon to select the color of a pixel. Click on the eye dropper icon and the mouse over the pixel you are interested in and click. Watch closely because there will be a box to the side (in Gimp) where you will be able to see the color you selected, if you click on the box with the color it will take you to a pop-up with all kinds of information about that color.

- Pixels are what the image you are looking at is composed of. They will appear as squares and will become much clearer to you when you continue to increase the size of the image.

- Anti-aliasing tries to smooth the jagged edges of graphics in the scanning process. One thing to keep in mind is anti-aliasing does not insert white pixels to smooth a black graphic such as a letter. Aliasing is the high contrast between the black pixels of the letters and white pixels of the background causing jagged edges in bitmaps. Anti-aliasing tries to smooth the letter by changing white pixels to shades of gray in the case of a white background. I have included an example of ant-aliasing in graphic form below.

- Security paper is a specialized manufactured paper for helping detect documents that are altered or forged, they can be custom ordered or they can be bought "off the shelf". These COLB use a paper with a background called "Green Basketweave" and can be found at various places online.

2 EASY STEPS

Step Number 1)

Open the original unaltered COLB with you grahics image editing program. Click on File -> Open and then find where you saved the image. Now increase the size of the image until you see the pixels very cleary...maybe 2300% or whatever works for you. Then click on the eye dropper tool icon and mouse over some of the pixels and select the color of a pixel, notice how the color is displayed in the small box to the side. You can click on this color to see more details of the color.

Once you are comfortable viewing pixel colors at a magnified view...

YOU ARE TO FIND A WHITE PIXEL as in #ffffff

Search the whole document, areas with no type, areas with type, between letters, between words, in and around the seal anywhere on the document...especially in the hollows of the letters where it is written ANY ALTERATIONS INVALIDATE THIS DOCUMENT.

Step Number 2)

Open the forged/altered COLB with your graphics editing program and follow the exact process of Step Number 1.

YOU ARE TO FIND A WHITE PIXEL as in #ffffff

Pay particular attention in between letters and words and hollows of letters. As well don't forget where it is written ANY ALTERATIONS INVALIDATE THIS DOCUMENT.
-hint ... try x/y co-ordinates 80,288.

Conclusion:

Once you have completed the above you will find "0" (zero) white pixels in the original COLB and lots of white and off white pixels in the forged/altered COLB.

Some may say it was the scanner that caused this in an original scan (anti-aliasing)...but this is not possible because there would be no white pixels from an original scan...only shades of green, gray and black even with the anti-aliasing. This is because the original COLB was printed on green basketweave security paper that has no white pixels when scanned...none.

Again, anti-aliasing would not produce white pixels because aliasing is the contrast between the black and white causing the jagged edges...anti-aliasing smooths the edges by making the white shades of gray or possibly green in this case.

You cannot scan an image with this paper and produce a white pixel because the ink is embedded(saturated in the paper?) and thus called "security paper". The only colors the scanner would "see" would be shades of green and black...not white.

Also, remember printers do not use white ink, they use a "normally" white background as the white, if the background is green then white would appear as green. The original document before scanning could not have contained white.

If you were careful to view the pixels in the ANY ALTERATIONS INVALIDATE THIS DOCUMENT part or even the CERTIFICATION OF LIVE BIRTH at the top you may have noticed that this was not produced with a font such as in individual letters, they were both reversals relying on the background to provide the effect of the font using the background as the color of the font.

It is quite interesting to note that in the original COLB the pixels are shades of green (the background) and in the forged/altered COLB the letters are actually white...which of course could not have been the original background.

To consider this an anti-aliasing effect would not be reasonable because there would never be white pixels added.

For fun google "green basketweave security paper" and find a graphic of this color, then as above try to find a white pixel. I have also included two of these below for your convenience.

You will also notice that you cannot find a white pixel anywhere on the forged/altered COLB unless it is near between letters, words or graphics that were laser printed onto the paper.

This may have happened if the words, letters and graphics were altered with an image editing program and overlayed onto an original background.

Could you use the brightness settings to lighten the page so that green pixels were white?

This would be done document wide and since the background of the whole document has no white pixels and the only white/off white pixels are found between/in letters, this is probably not possible.

Is it possible to adjust the contrast in a scan so the black letters appear darker by changing green to white?

I really don't think so but if anyone can do it let me know.

Is it possible that that it is caused by JPEG compression (JPEG artificats)?

I don't know for sure but I really don't think so because both are in jpeg format and the original COLB is smaller than the forged one.
Original - 128.26 KB
Forged - 168.37 KB

Was it caused by the original printer or scanners used?

Again, I don't know for sure but if we assume they were printed by the same/similar printers and the printer would not print white, the scanner of the forged/altered COLB would be suspect.
Most (all?) scanners are TWAIN compliant using a standard protocol from the hardware to the application software...different lamps?... maybe but I don't think a scanner would process the shades of green as white.

What does this mean?

Who knows? My best guess is this is not a forged document as in having wrong information forged but an altered document as having been altered in another graphics program to appear as a forged document. It is simply to poor of a forgery to have seriously been performed at this level. It would have taken maybe two or three hours to change those white and off white pixels to the appropriate shades of green so as to have increased the quality of the forgery, try it yourself - in Gimp select a shade of green and then click on the tool that looks like a bucket of paint being tipped over... it is called the bucket fill tool, now move the cursor over the pixel to change and click... your pixel(s) will change to the color you selected.

Why a fake forged document?

My best guess again is that like a magician who distracts your eyes with one hand while fooling you with the other this document is a distraction...the focus is on it and when there is a last minute Supreme Court order to produce the original...what do you know... it has the exact same information as the original forged/altered document and all the "unbelievers" are proven to be false...meanwhile the question of having Indonesian citizenship and not re-instating U.S. citizenship before the age of eighteen, the real deal breaker, gets swept under the rug (or something else ??). This would explain why all these people promoting the "forged" document have nothing to worry about because it isn't forged but altered and who cares as long as the information is correct.

For an in depth professional analysis of the above (this is a simplified hack of it) go to:

- for the lazy(smart?) ones, just take a magnifying glass and look closely on your computer screen at the black boxes that say Certification Of Live Birth in each one. It is easy to see the original has green letters and the forged one has white letters. For a better effect cover everything else on the screen with white paper
